Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then located numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police say early analysis indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
An important political figure stated the attack left him without words and needed to be solved quickly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
