I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
